And just like that, 5 years after I heard it the first time, I’ll be jumping in for 11 months!

—————————-

I was 20 years old in a small village in Haiti surrounded by a mixture of English, French, and Creole when I heard God quietly show me how he had been working in my life for years, intertwining missions and my everyday Minnesotan life. I believe in that moment God told me that International Missions would be a large piece of my life, and that He’d been preparing me for it since the first time I met missionaries when I was 8 years old. I could see it, I could see my love and desire for it crystal clear. I could see His handiwork in my life. I could see the opportunities in the coming years. I could see myself going to every country I could until I found “the one” that He’d planned for me. I could see it happening the very next month.

Then the Lord showed me what He planned for my next month and the next two years, and it was not what mine were. Finishing my degree, focusing on Him, and growing where I was planted.

Then I saw it after graduating. My time to do something new, my chance to go into international missions!

Then the Lord showed me a desk job for the next two years that I had never desired but which turned into one surprisingly sweet experience with more to teach me, grow me, and stretch me than I would have ever expected. He showed me a ministry in St. Paul that was refreshing, that provided more beauty than I would have expected to find in my own home state.

Then something happened. I saw an opportunity opening up for change. I prayed about the coming year, and I realized for the first time since that village at 20 years old that I was open to truly whatever and wherever God was bringing me in the coming year. I looked at my options, and I knew that He was the important thing. But more than just knowing it, I had a refreshing peace about His direction no matter where the compass was pointing. Shortly following, I began to see Him opening up an opportunity for international missions to re-enter my life in a big way.

And 5 years after first hearing the Lord bring missions to the forefront of my attention: Enter the World Race!

I am scheduled to go in January, and I cannot wait to see how God will use this year, this time to teach me, use me, and reveal Himself further. I am excited to find people who would like to join me in both prayer and financial support as I prepare to go. If you’d like to know more about the trip or my support raising please contact me!

My email is [email protected] , or I’d love to get together in person!
