Since we sometimes have problems with email, here’s a copy of the email sent to you today with details about Project Searchlight.
Dear WR Parents –
Reid Mason, our Alumni Coordinator, has asked me to send this information to you about Project Searchlight. His contact info is toward the bottom of the email if you have additional questions. In addition, we will be hosting a FB Live session with Reid on Wednesday, October 30 at 8 pm (eastern time) on the FB group page. It will post as a video on that group page if you are not able to join us live.

My name is Reid Mason, and I’m privileged to work with alumni of our World Race and World Race: Gap Year programs. I get to support and encourage Racers as they come off the field and transition into a Kingdom way of life: a life passionately following Jesus.
Transition off the mission field can be a challenging time. After undergoing such a transformational experience, many Gap Year Racers have questions like:
“How do I take what I learned and saw and apply it to life in the States?” “I’m going to college/taking a job after the Race. How do I bring my experience to a college campus or workplace?” “I have new dreams and hopes. What steps should I take to go after them?”
To help your Racer transition, we’ve invited them to Project Searchlight, a debriefing conference on our campus in Gainesville, GA.
Project Searchlight, or PSL, is the official end to your Racer’s time on the World Race and a time for your Racer to be refreshed and relaunched into living a life on purpose. Your Racer will engage in impactful worship, hear from world-class speakers, and re-connect with their Squad. (PSL is also free for your Racer! We cover the cost of the event – including lodging and food – in their World Race fundraising goal.)
You can check out the Project Searchlight website for more info.
“Sounds great, Reid. But what about travel to PSL?” Great question! To help your Racer get to PSL, we can reimburse each Racer up to $150 to go towards their flight or gas expenses! We will reimburse expenses for airfare or gas, but not food, rental cars, hotels, etc. Your Racer must submit receipts to receive the reimbursement (and they must come from your Racer, not from you – however they can submit receipts that show you paid for the ticket, etc.). And they cannot be submitted until PSL.
Is your Racer flying to PSL? They should land at the Atlanta Airport before 1 pm on Saturday, January 4 [they will be picked up at 1:30], and they should depart from the Atlanta airport after 1:30 pm on Wednesday, January 8 [they will be dropped off by noon].
Is your Racer driving to PSL? They should arrive at the Adventures campus between 3-5 pm on Saturday, January 4, and will depart from Gainesville after 10 am on Wednesday, January 8.
Thanks for trusting us with your Racer. We’re so proud of all they’ve done and all they’ve become!
More Details Cost: Free! The cost is included in the program fundraising goal. Arrival: 3 pm, Saturday, January 4, 2020 Departure: 10 am, Wednesday, January 8, 2020 Location: Adventures in Missions campus, Gainesville, GA Housing: Provided (exact location TBD)
