Komodo Village.

I want to describe this place and the beautiful people who live there to all of you, but I know that even with my love for storytelling and writing, I won’t do things justice.

And even if I did them justice, you would need to be willing to put down your American perspective lens in order to see and understand the beauty of a place that doesn’t look or smell or sound like the home you or I know.

And I’m not sure my heart is ready to entrust the sweetness of this experience into the hands of people who think that “different” is bad or who would scoff at any part of this experience.

I know that this does not apply to all of you.

Many of you would genuinely share my appreciation for this place and these people, and I look forward to painting a picture of this place for you in the future.

Until then, know that incredible things happened here.

We loved people deeply.

We ministered through respect and consideration of their own belief system and culture.

We prayer walked constantly, praying powerful prayers and blessings over that place.

We worshipped each morning and afternoon in plain sight and sound of the people in the village.

Once there, we were asked to help in the schools.

People asked questions.

Redemptive conversations happened.

We prayed and sang over children as we played with them.

People were healed in the name of Jesus.

And so much more.

It was powerful, and I’m so grateful that the Lord chose to send me there.

I am currently typing frantically before rushing to my gate to catch my next flight. Once I land in my new location, security on what and how I share things will tighten a bit for the next month. For those of you following me on social media, I will share very little (if anything) via social media. And as for my blog, I will not post details of where I am or specifics on what I am doing. Everything is fine; this is just a precaution that the WR takes in certain locations.

The Lord is good, and I am expectant of all that is to come.

As always, thank you for being a part of this journey.

XO,

Jami

P.S. I am $2,518 from being completely funded for this journey. Praise the Lord! Thank you so much to all of you who have donated. Your giving is helping to make Jesus’ name known around the world. Thank you in advance to those of you who are going to help finish out this fundraising goal. I am praying many blessings in return for you.
