Cool Geography: Because of the way it is curved, if you stand one part of the country, the Pacific Ocean in on the west but in another location the Pacific Ocean is on the east! The tides are huge, at low tide the water is — feet lower than high tide.
Fun things to do: Check out the Panama Canal! They have a cool museum and you can sit and watch a boat go through the canal locks! The canal was finished in 1914 and it drastically decreased the time for ships to travel the world. Ships schedule ahead of time and wait for a turn to use canal a while in advance (a year? Let me double check), since only on ship can go through it at a time. They are working to duplicate the lock
