I typed out this post about a hundred times and deleted every word just as many times. Those of you who know me know that I tend to avoid the uncomfortable. For some people a day never goes by where they don’t feel uncomfortable, and for others, there is never a day where they do. I think it’s safe for me to say that the majority of people are uncomfortable talking about finances. Especially in times of need.

Thinking about that now, though, it seems kind of odd and even silly to me. We all know that there is a price to exist in this world. We all know that sometimes, it is necessary to have money. There should be nothing embarrassing about that. And yet, it is. It seems to me that a spirit of shame and embarrassment tends to follow us whenever we discuss such things. But I don’t believe God wants us to feel that way.

So far in the preparation stage of the World Race I am learning that growth is uncomfortable. In the many times that I have heard women talk about pregnancy, the majority of the conversations have been about the discomforts they faced. How uncomfortable that growth was for them. Furthermore, I’ve never heard anyone say that giving birth was easy or fun. But at the end of it all they all say the same thing. They all say that despite being uncomfortable for 9 months and going through hours (maybe even days or weeks) of being in pain, they all say that it was worth it.

I said all this to say that in times of growth, we might face many discomforts. We might even face some things that are painful. But from that discomfort comes something new and something great. Honestly, I felt pretty uncomfortable writing this post, and yet here you are reading it. Because I know that from my discomfort will come something amazing and life-changing.

So, in the spirit of growth, I am reaching out to each one of you reading this blog post to ask: Will you consider financially partnering with me for this trip? No amount is too little, and every cent will go towards furthering the Kingdom of God.

My financial goal for this trip is $25,000. Just over $19,000 of that will go towards expenses such as food, travel arrangements, housing accommodations, and insurance. The rest of the money will go towards buying my equipment/gear and any other additional expenses I may have while I am away. Donations can be made directly from this blog or by check. Checks should be made out to Adventures in Missions, with my name in the memo line, mailed to the following address:

If you are unable to partner financially, I would still appreciate your partnership in prayer. You can also partner with me by suggesting a few friends that you think may be interested in partnering with me as well! This is such a big fundraising goal, that I don’t know enough people to talk to about my ministry. If you were going on a mission trip, who would you ask to be a part of your support team? If you could send me the names and contact information of anyone that you can think of, that would be amazing!

Thanks for reading this long post!

Much love folks, Heaven
