The Last Day On The Race
It is with a heavy and still shocked heart that I write this…
We woke up to the news yesterday.
Because of the virus, leadership made the decision to bring all teams on the field home. This amounts to over 500 missionaries that are being sent home.
My team leaves at 5am tomorrow morning from Baku, Azerbaijan (in 5 hours from now). We will be debriefing as a squad for a few days in the States before flying to our respective home cities.
This is all so unexpected…none of us have prepared to go home yet.
Nevertheless, I’m thankful for a God that is so faithful.
I am thankful that we were able to be on the field for 8 months and serve in 8 countries.
I’m thankful to follow a God that is WAY BIGGER than any virus or disease.
Psalm 121
“I fix my eyes on the mountains
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of Heaven & Earth.”
What’s Next For Me?
I’m not 100% sure yet what coming home will look like…
but I do know that my time on the field is not yet over!
I’m very thankful to have such a loving and supportive family and community to come back to in the States. I look forward to seeing everyone soon, catching up, and sharing stories from the field.
My Race isn’t finished yet…it is only beginning. I don’t plan to stop living this radical life of following Jesus just because I am being sent back home.
Quite the opposite, I am so excited to continue this Race in the States…and for the rest of my life!
Thank you to everyone for your prayer and financial support in this journey!
Please continue praying as my squad travels home.
- For safe travels
- For opportunities to share the Gospel as we travel home
- For a sweet time together as a squad as we travel and debrief
- For good closure
- For anxiety and fear to flee about the unknowns with coming home
More blogs & final updates to come!! Thank you for your prayers!!! And I will be home soon!
