Weeks ago I dreamt of these community girls eagerly wanting to know my story and to share theirs. There was such a strong desire from them to know me better. I shared this dream with my teammate because of how interesting it was.
All through the Bible we see God using dreams to lead his people. I believed he impressed on my heart that day that this dream was from Him.
These community girls range from ages 11-16 they’ve known each other for years now and have been apart of the lighthouse community for quite sometime. They display a good image of what it looks like to do life together, in community.
A day ago this dream became reality.
With God’s spirit to lead me I carefully created a space for these girls to be open and share their hearts, I asked questions and they so willing gave answers. I was given an insight and new perspective on their stories involving the typhoon Yolanda that happened just 5 years ago. They expressed how this incident allowed them to come to know God and have relationship with Him.
In a moment worship was being impressed on my heart. We spread across the room and spent time in drawing near to the Father, I was lead to pray for each individual. I will tell you, He was everything that they needed Him to be in those moments.
A comforter.
A healer.
A chainbreaker.
A peacemaker.
A Father.
Simply because He loves them.
I prayed things He already DESIRED to do.
I am so thankful to have His spirit, I am thankful for these sisters.
Through this he’s given me an excitement to continue living with intentionality and an openness to all things good.
5 years ago they were apart of something that sparked questions in their lives, Why did this happen? Why me?
I can’t answer that for them, but I know these are things HE says:
- These things happened to you because I intend to work it together for your good (Romans 8).
- This happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. (2 Corinthians 1)
- This happened so that the gold and silver of your faith would be refined (1 Peter 1)
and through it all, He’s always been good.
Pray for continuous healing and comfort for this nation and its people.
“who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
2 Corinthians 1:4
