Month four of my 23rd year.
.) A Kyrgyz traditional drink if local jam (usually raspberry) mixed in hot water. It’s GOOD too.
.) False peace isn’t real peace and won’t last
.) They don’t use salt on the sidewalks or streets in Kyrgyzstan, so it’s really slippery
.) For me and myself, anxiety will never win.
.) Screaming old worship songs with Jordan and Hailey is really good for the soul
.) Banana Bread is always a yes
.) Hard conversations are necessary for healthy community
.) I’ve seen a faith for restoration of families in Karakol that stirs in my heart a greater faith and
hope of restoration (peep my last blog, He’s All Up In It)
.) Hailey and I can’t cook specifically Kyrgyz noodles to save our lives. RIP to our teammates stomachs and the 3 batches of mac and cheese we tried to make.
.) The Lord will always show up, even if it’s not in the way you expected
.) There’s a deaf taxi driver in Karakol who has such hope and faith in the Lord to regain his hearing. His tender spirit is continually on my heart.
.) Snow is magical and I will walk in the flurries any day.
.) Sierra Coffee is also magical, if you’re ever in Kyrgyzstan. GO.
.) God doesn’t put us in a box, so why do we do it to ourselves.
.) I memorized 44 facts about Bailee Thomas, ask me if you want to know them. (lol)
.) Heated floors are a thing in Central Asia, and I’d like them to be a thing for the rest of my life.
.) Hot Spring, another ALWAYS yes.
.) Sometimes the hardest months can equal out to the best months.
.) God is all up in this thing.
.) Shame can go to hell (literally).
.) I learned what it means to say goodbye to your first team, love you forever WYLD & Kaysha.
.) Change is hard, but it’s good, and necessary.
.) I got my first taste of what life is going to look like with Team Kestrel.
