Fundraising,,
One of the most difficult things that comes with the World Race (so far (or for me at least)). Up until I got accepted to go on the race the possibility of raising $16,600 never seemed like an issue, because I had all the faith in the world that this is what God was calling me to and I had no doubt that He would provide and take care of me. Like a child that sooo easily believes, but at the same time, as you grow the weight of the world grows, as well and as you become more aware of the world and its realities, you lose sight of that faith you once had and start to worry more and more. This is what happened to me, once i realized that it was my responsibility to raise this money, it’s like that $16,600 grew bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger in my head and almost seemed like an impossible goal to achieve. Not to mention I’ve never experienced fundraising before and I feel so bad for asking for money. But I’ve been re-learning that fundraising in and of itself is a form of ministry and I’m simply asking you to partner with me to do the Lord’s will and spread the good news to people who would have never heard about it before. I realize that not everyone has the opportunity or the same calling to travel the world for 9 months, living out of a backpack, but you do have the opportunity to help fulfill God’s plan by funding and partnering with me in prayer over this trip.
So I’m trying to take that to heart and realize that people want to help me and the Lord will provide! So in youth the other night we focused on Matthew 6:25-34, which talks about worry and how we should deal with it and one of my favorite illustrations it paints for us is that the lord provides the birds everything that they need, they don’t work for it on their own but the lord provides for them anyway. So how much more will he take care of US!? His children, his heirs, the sinful people he loved SO much that he sent his ONLY son to DIE IN OUR PLACE so that we may have eternal life with Christ!! So I’m taking back this faith and I KNOW the Lord WILL provide the rest of this money if it is HIS will!
That being said my next goal is to reach $10,000 before August 22nd!!! And right now I’m at around $6,900 that means I have 45 days to raise a little over $3,000!! And I fully believe that the Lord will provide!
So I ask you to prayerfully consider helping fund me to go on this trip, and it doesn’t have to be a big contribution because every cent counts! I also ask that if you can’t financially help me, just pray for me, my squad and our funds and that the Lord will move mountains!
