17 taught me A LOT and as my 18th birthday has just come and gone I’ve been thinking about change. And growing. And aging. As seasons change it doesn’t always come easy. It’s not always a smooth transition. There will be good days and there will be harder days. There will be times of confusion and uncertainty. But change is inevitable. And it’s not a bad thing, in fact, it’s one of the best things that could happen because, even it if wasn’t wanted, it was needed in someway even if we can’t see that quite yet.
“Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”” John 13:7 < This verse has helped shape the way that I look at these difficult changes over the years. God’s plans go way beyond our understanding and knowledge. His timing is always right. You aren’t in this situation on accident, you’re in it for a reason even if you’re screaming out why God, why me, why now, I don’t understand. Trust. Trust His timing. Trust His plan. I know that this is sooooo so so easy to say but hard to put into practice (I’m still learning to fully trust, this blog is kinda a note/reminder to myself) but remember these truths >
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” Romans ?8:28-30? ?
Y’all God has got this, he’s got US. God has you in this time and space to grow you, and stretch you, and most of all to make you more like him and to make you more reliant on him.
“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” ??2 Corinthians ?12:10? ?
Seasons come and seasons go. “You can change your style, you can change your jeans. You can learn to fly and you can chase your dreams. You can laugh and cry but everybody knows. You’ll always find your way back home”(my hannah montana fans wya? iykyk). This race set before us isn’t always going to be easy, there will be bumps in the road, and hurdles we’ll have to overcome, but we know that Christ is calling us to himself and he’s with us, carrying us every step of the way (Hebrews 12) And through remembering this, we can count every changing of seasons, every birthday, and every single day as joy, & through it all, let God’s glory be the final word.

All the love

E 🙂
