11 months abroad, me and my backpack, what could go wrong?

When I mention the world race, I get mixed reactions. Typically, people know of the organization which makes me feel justified in my decision to partner with Adventures in Missions for my ministry.

However, sometimes I get a “:o” face, coupled with a “Oh, my friend did that………” followed by a silence, and then some, finishing up with “……It was hard, I heard“. Then they smile, but as if they are in pain, and scurry away.

I’m not so sure what these people would’ve said if they got the chance to be truly honest. However, I’m not stranger to reality. And Realistically, the WR is difficult.

I was reading a blog post of a friend currently on the missions field, she was bed ridden, had gotten a severe parasite from brushing her teeth with local tap water. (???) (WHAT) (!!!)

Another friend, was sick for days, unable to move, also healing from pink eye, and large lumps formed in her neck from stress. The reality was harsh. Certainly not pretty.

Then the email came. The dreaded “shots” list.

The recommended vaccines for my travel. Me, being completely terrified of blood, and needles, nearly fainted.

Its okay, It’s okay, It’s okay.

But I’m weak in the knees. (!!!)

Sharing this vaccine list with my father, he laughed and recalled a time during the Air Force, where they lined everyone up, and sent them down an “assembly line” of shots. At the end, he said blood was dripping down your arm. This story, of course, came after squeamishly begging him to change the subject. Love a good dad humor. (I think?)

Reality is a jerk. POINT BLANK.

And she says I can’t raise 19,200. She says I will be unsafe. She says I could give up.

I Know, all things, for the glory of God, are blessed by Him. And All things, through him, are undeniably: possible. POSSIBLE. I can do all things.

I CAN raise 19,200. I CAN handle unsafe conditions. I WILL NOT give up.

Join me in prayer this holiday season:

Pray for resiliency, persistence, and courage to ask for help with support.

Pray for a heart to continue seeking the lord through my last semester of college, to stay present and love those around me, and to pray for my fellow world racers as well.

As Christmas approaches,

I invite you to help me reach my goal of 5,000 by the end of January.

This will put me at a bit over 1/4 of my total fundraising goal.

If you go to my home page, clink “donate”, and play this fun little game of:

How long until I see my donation affect the cool little meter thingy yeee haw!

I will be making a step-by-step, instructional, informational guide to how to find ways to support me, whether through buying the things i will be selling come new year, or spreading the world. Keep an eye out.

MERRY CHRISTMAS,

God bless you,

Chat with you soon, my sweet, sweeeeet support squad.

Love y’all.

Special shoutout to:

Ethan Trull: For being a 2-time donor.

Sarah Garvey: For finding ways to give me work to do in support of my missions.

I love how you love me, by being so intentional.
