I have arrived in Terraba, Costa Rica and will be staying here until August 7th. We are currently working with a small church reaching out to the native people in this area. We are in the jungle and are sleeping on the church floor with all the bugs and frogs! It’s wonderful! There is more of a language barrier here so we are working on communication currently and learning about the people.

My time in Nicaragua was awesome. God allowed me to slow down and focus on Him. There has been a theme for me on faith while studying recently. In Hebrews 11:13 the verse says that all of the people previously mentioned in the chapter died without seeing the result of their faith or the promise of God. But they trusted God and Confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on this earth. As I work in these communities and churches I may be planting seeds that I will never see grow. But I have faith that God has put me in this place for a reason, that he is using my team to spread the gospel and encourage the saints. This trip has also made it clear to me that my home is not here on earth. My home is in heavenly places, and is prepared for me. As we backpack around these countries we are meeting the church all over the planet and get to experience their love for our Savior in so many different ways.

Continue praying for my team as we attempt to reach out to these communities. The hardest part right now is that there is a huge Christian influence in this part of the world. Many people believe that their salvation is secured through works, and don’t realize that they do not know Jesus. Pray that they are willing to listen and open their hearts to the truth.

I will try and update when I can but right now I am sneaking a hotels WiFi to post this blog. Pray that I have courage and strength!
