Hello Friends,
My name is Eric Swiger, I am 25 years old, and I am going on the World Race. However, If you are here then you probably already know this! I am here to tell you more about what this is and what it means to me.
What is the World Race? The World Race is a nondenominational mission trip through Adventures in Missions. We will be visiting 11 countries over 11 months to come alongside local missionaries and empower them! This could manifest itself in so many different ways.
This trip excites me for a variety of reasons. First, this is the heart of the Great Commission; MATTHEW 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” I am so excited to go into so many nations to help bring the kingdom of God!
Second, doing short-term missions the “right” way. As an isolated event, showing up in a community for 2-6 weeks to serve will not change much of anything. However, we are coming to serve the community and equip the local missionary. We are there not to build Rome in a day but to build upon a foundation that the local missionary has laid and will continue once we are gone.
Finally, I am excited to see how God will grow me through this. There is not a possible scenario that I will return from this experience the same Man that I left as. This is both exciting and terrifying at the same time! However, I look forward to seeing how the culture shock, dramatic lifestyle change, and the year of pure servitude will affect my life!
Thank you for showing interest in me and my trip! Please reach out if you would like to know more or hit the “Donate” button above to support me!
