Hey everyone! I’m BURSTING with joy that you’re here. Welcome to my first blog post regarding the World Race! (eeeeppppp)

In this post, I really just wanted to answer a couple of questions about my heart, intentions, and the Race!- I think the easiest way to do this would be to include a couple commonly asked questions with my responses. SO yeah here we go!

I first want to address kinda what the Race consists of just to keep y’all in the loop here. Basically, starting next September, I will have the opportunity to grow in the Lord and share His Word in South Africa, Cambodia, and Ecuador. I am super psyched to be a part of this!

I also want to be vulnerable in saying I AM SCARED for this absolutely!!! For me, this is taking a huge step in obedience, as there are so many things my timid heart is fearful of. In saying that, that’s definitely been one of the coolest parts of this decision. Seeing how the Lord remains faithful and trustworthy in all of this. GOOD STUFF HERE!

Ok yes now for the questions, my apologies

1. Why did you decide to do the Race?

This is a super long one but I’ll spare you the details. To give the basic idea though, I heard about the World Race through my good friend, when I was in ninth grade and I was super in awe of the whole thing. I for sure never thought I would be going! Then, while in the airport on a family trip, I was reminiscing on my short-term mission trip to Nicaragua. After a conversation with my parents about missions brought up the World Race, I looked into going but let my fears get in the way. A month later God was like HELLO DID YOU NOT HEAR ME THE FIRST TIME! and while I was praying, I was reminded of the trip. It was the coolest thing because I just knew right then that that’s where I wanted to be, and where God wanted me to be next year!

2. How do your parents feel?

They are my parents so they are scared, but their supportive spirits outweigh the fear! They are so encouraging of the trip despite me not seeing them for 9 months. (not even Christmas- sorry mom) It has made us cherish the time we have together right now so much more which has been really cool.

3. So… college?

YES! Ah the most frequently asked question. I am going to college when I return. I am planning on applying now, getting accepted (hopefully) and then deferring for a year! I will be a year behind all my friends which is a sad thought, but we will be growing in such different parts of life which will be so happy! The encouragement to go on the Race and not straight to college rests in the phrase that college will always be there but the Lord has set this on my heart for NOW!

4. What’s the deal with money?

In order to go on the Race, I have to raise $16,600. Sounds super daunting but I genuinely believe that the Lord will honor my obedience and provide the means to step in faith. That being said, if you feel lead to donate to my trip, please do! There is a donation box at the top of my blog. But! Donating isn’t the only way you can be involved in this! PRAY FOR ME! Pray over that specific number. Pray for my heart. Pray for my squad. Pray for health before, during, and after the trip. That is so needed.

Ok!!!! So yes that’s me!!! Thanks a whole ton for reading, that was really sweet and means a lot to me as this is SO close to my heart.
