Lately, I have been getting the question “why are you doing the world race?” The simple answer that made the most sense to me was that God has called me to it. I truly believe that he has. But having all these people ask the same question made me start thinking about it a little more. Why am I doing the world race? What is driving me to keep going when it would be so easy to stop? The only thing that has stuck in my head is the phrase “for the one”.
For the one smile. For the one hug. For the one interaction. For the one salvation. For the one transformation. If this entire journey impacts just one person who would have otherwise been untouched and unseen, it is worth it to me. The emotional rollercoasters that come with this journey. Putting my life on hold for a year. Fundraising and everything in between would all be worth it if just one person was impacted by God through me on this trip.
So, for those that ask “why are you doing the world race?”, my answer to you is…
FOR THE ONE.
