I blinked and month one was over. And I don’t think it’s fair. I am not and I could never be prepared to say goodbye to this amazing place that has become my home over the past month. Every single person I met will forever have a spot in my heart. & I can’t wait to come back!

To my 10 students: You taught me more than I could ever teach you. Thank you for loving Bree and me so well. You are destined to be great and we believe in you! I hope to be back soon and can’t wait to see your smiling faces. I love you all!

To all my roomies (housemates as Jimmy says): You all have been amazing. The patience you all showed toward 10 crazy Americans is so unreal. You all hold a special spot in our hearts and will forever have a home wherever we are. Team time is not the same without you and we miss you all so much! Go be the world changers we all know ya’ll are!

To every single person in Namatama: I have never felt so loved by any other group of people. From the moment we arrived, we were met with beautiful smiling faces and that is something that I will never forget. You welcomed all of us with arms open wide. My heart will forever be with ya’ll and I absolutely cannot wait to get back to ya’ll!

To Mercy & Dennis: Ya’ll might be my favorite humans on the planet. The heart you have for people is so evident and you both inspire me to be a better person. Mercy- thank you for always hanging up my dirty laundry and cooking us amazing dinner. Dennis- thank you for all the fun times and for always making sure I was happy. You two hold a big spot in my heart and I will never forget you. I love ya’ll!

& to my amazing team: I love ya’ll so much! Month one has been challenging but we made it! I can not wait to see how the Lord uses us over the next two months. Thank you for loving me well!! & not giving up on me when I scream about ANOTHER lizard.

The only way I can describe this past month of my life is by saying that it was a beautiful mess. It has been full of tears, laughter, and lots of prayers. My heart began to fall in love with a place that I had only been for a few weeks, but then I felt my heart break as time slowly began to dwindle and I had to say goodbye. I met some of the greatest humans on the planet, but then had to say my hardest goodbyes a few weeks later. I learned that community living can be challenging but it is so rewarding at the end of each day. & Any bad day can easily be fixed with a soccer game, water fight, or searching for the big dipper in an open sky with a few amazing friends.

We are leaving Livingstone tomorrow morning at 5 AM heading to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Prayers for safe travels are greatly appreciated! Month 2 here we come!!
