One of the things that can be challenging about being on an expedition squad is in most countries we have no ministry connections. This has been the case for almost all the places my team has been (China, Tibet, Nepal, India, and Ethiopia). We do not know anyone in these places we have been traveling to but God always gives us amazing opportunities to get involved with the community.
One way that we try to meet people and find these opportunities God has for us is with “Faith Walks”. Now we do live by the saying “Ministry is life and life is ministry” so technically everyday of our lives is a walk of faith but the “Faith Walks” are just a little different. We start out our days in prayer just asking God what he wants for us for that day. Sometimes God highlights things like “taking the bus” or “flowers” other times we may not hear anything. After prayer we set out into town in teams with no agenda except being open to the Father’s voice. It’s always amazing. You never know what is going to happen. A lot of the time God puts people in front of us to pray for and show his love and mercy to. Other times he just takes us into deeper intimacy with him. One of the more powerful faith days I was apart of, Ian felt led to walk around the colleges and take turns praying over them every 2 minutes. We didn’t see any healing that day or lay hands on people but I know He heard our prayers and was touching the hearts of everyone inside.
Another one of my favorites was when Aspen, Kelsey and I did a Faith Walk in China. Check out this video to see what all happened! I know I’m super late on this video but finding wifi good enough to upload videos is extremely rare.
I wish I could record and tell more about the ministry parts of some these faith days but with it being illegal in the countries, I cannot share online without putting the people invoved at risk. I hope you enjoyed the video more than Aspen enjoyed her liver roll!
