The issue of pride, reputation, and legalism often is the downfall of our witness. The issue of tolerance, lack of biblically based theology, and carelessness is, as well, the downfall of our witness.

There is no balance. There simply is human nature and Christian nature.
We must adopt this Christian nature to our lives and lean fully on it.

One way we can do this is through the practice of meeting people where they are at.

Every person has a story, every person has a need, and every person needs a better understanding of God’s love, and going the extra mile, the extra step, and putting in a bit more effort allows us to walk to those, away from where we are, to reach them effectively. This doesn’t mean a sacrifice of character but simply sacrifice of consistency in our surroundings.

It takes a certain kind of flexibility, willingness, and moldability to reach such a vast community of people.

Writing this entry has proven more a challenge than others, but this is a new concept that I’m focusing on, so more knowledge will come with time.
One of our fearless leaders, Andrew, has graciously been pouring wisdom to me on this topic and has challenged me to focus on meeting people where they are at. I hope to become more like Christ in this way.
