It will not surprise anyone that knows me that my favorite movie moment comes from the movie 300. The moment I’m referring to is when a group of the Spartans are talking to a Persian emissary after defeating a Persian patrol. In the conversation the Persian is telling the Spartans to surrender because they will not survive the fight against the might of the Persian army, he even says that their army is so vast that they will block the light of the sun with the flight of their arrows. And my favorite part is when the Spartan closest to him responds with “then we will fight in the shade” I still get goose bumps when I hear him say that. The Spartans truly lived with a no matter what mentality, even in the face of a very real and very powerful threat they would not surrender. This is the kind of mindset that all Christians need to incorporate into their lives for we face the most powerful foe of them all. Satan can and will of the tools at his disposal interrupt our lives to make us doubt ourselves and our faith all just to keep us from spreading God’s word and His love. But when we accept Christ into our hearts we gain the tools and the strength to push back, all we have to do is remember to rely on Christ because with Him on our side we can’t lose. So will you join me in advancing His kingdom with a no matter what mindset.
