This week I received more information about where my team will be heading and what we will be doing. For the first month we will be on Ometepe Island, Nicaragua, where we will be helping out at the orphanage and Christian School. The school provides children with a home of Christian love and support, proper clothing, food, education, and living care. Some of the things that we might be helping out will be working with the Christian school, serving in the cafeteria, serving with chores around the home, helping out with kids programs, planting in the garden, prayer walks, and house visits.
For the second month we will be in San Jose, Costa Rica where there is a Christian organization called Connexion Ministries. We will hopefully be helping out with the children’s ministry inside (teaching English) and Kids club, participating in community gatherings and worship services, painting churches or schools, sports ministries, clinic ministries, manual labor, and prison ministries.
For the final month we will be serving and living at Ocean’s Edge in Jaco, Costa Rica. Ocean’s Edge is a ministry that trains and gives opportunities to work in business, art, and marketing. Some tasks we might be able to do are helping out with the kids ministry at the local church, kids camps, working at the local library, construction projects on the property.
