Two months. 8 weeks. 56 days. 1,334 hours. 80,640 minutes. 4,838,400 seconds. These numbers are a general estimate of how many months, weeks, days, minutes and seconds until I physically begin my journey on The World Race: Gap Year. Now, another number: 16,600. THAT is the amount of dollars in my account, which meeeannnnsss…….. Friends and family, I AM FULLY-FUNDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is with such JOY that I am writing this blog in the first place, but even more than that, I am writing it THREE MONTHS before I was believing Jesus for all of my funds. It is such an incredible feeling knowing that you are where Jesus has called you to be- if you are a follower of Christ, I’m sure you know that, but it truly is exceptional. When I applied/committed in late September, early October, I had NO IDEA the amount of people that would come out of NOWHERE, looking to support me either through prayer, encouragement, or financial means. Seeing the body of Christ come together to SEND me has been one of the greatest things to be apart of. I heard it like this one time, “You are either called to GO, or you are called to SEND.” I think that is put so perfectly because as important as it is to go, it is not possible to even go without being sent. & there are so many ways to send- what a beautiful thing. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone has played a part in this so far and thank you to those of you that continue to!!!!!
NEXT, what is next? I am really really super stoked- I will leave later this week and go to Training Camp. It is in Gainesville, Georgia and I will be there from July 9th-19th. I will hopefully get more of an idea of what the next nine months truly look like, MEET MY PEOPLE, and grow spiritually, emotionally, and physcially. I cannot wait to update you on how it goes and what I learn! Please be praying for this event.
Lastly, I know I have asked SO much out of you and as much as I reealllyyy don’t want to ask anymore, I have a two things to inform you on and ask you to consider.
One being this: Being FULLY-FUNDED is incredible and if that is all the funds I receive, I will be SO thankful! However, I have a personal funds account as well. I do not have a set amount or goal I am seeking, but my gear costed around $1,500, shots will cost around $400, and then I will have an account that my sweet mom will transfer funds to while I am on the field for whatever I may need. If you have not donated and are interested in donating $5 or $10, please let me know! You will see that my funding bar is gone because at this point, since I am fully-funded, all donations will go to the general fund. Please contact me if you are interested.
Second thing being this: If your spiritual gift is encouragment, this is for you especially and anyone else too!!!! When I leave in September, I will not be home until the end of May/beginning of June. In saying that, I will be in South Africa for Thanksgiving, Ecuador for Christmas, and Cambodia for my birthday! I cannot receive anything on the field, considering how often we move, but I would be so appreciative if you would pre-write me some encouragement!
