Hello there! My name is Chris Hughes, and I am a 20 year college student from Woodstock, Georgia. I have lived in Georgia my entire life with my parents, Christen and Dan, and my older brother, Tyler. I am in my third year in college at Kennesaw State University studying sociology with a concentration in cultural diversity studies. I love going outside and seeing everything there is to do. I love kayaking and any sport there is to think of. I grew up going to Mount Paran North Church here in Marietta, but I always knew that God had something more in store for me. My entire family is involved in a ministry called Holy Spirit Encounter, and we have been involved in that for almost 8 years now. That is where I really experienced the Holy Spirit for the first time in my life on an extremely personal level. I have been to Nicaragua twice, which is my only international experience. While in Nicaragua, I saw and experienced God in a new and deep way that just drew me closer to Him, and made me fall even deeper in love with my Father. The reason I chose World Race was just really God. I knew I wanted to go somewhere out of the country and out of my comfort zone, but I really didn’t have any direction. I have never been away from home or my family for an extended period of time (except college). During this year long journey, I want to grow and experience God in a way that allows me to see the world through His eyes.
