in a land of the eternal springs life is abundant and full of greenery, fruit, and so much freedom. when landing in guatemala city, emotions were all over the place. unexplainable and it has taken a couple days to truly comprehend the beauty that ive found in my new home.
the first couple of days here have looked like learning, yearning to know more about this place of honor, royalty, and power for restoration.
they have looked like understanding the importance of intentionality with my team, squad, leaders, and the staff here that serve me so well.
they have looked like being revealed my role in the kingdom of god, and the idea that giving myself grace as i figure this all out, is necessary.
they have looked like words of life being spoken over me hitting my heart deeper than anything i have ever experienced.
they have looked like soccer games, worship sessions in the sun, reading, hammocking, so much precious time with the father, new friends galore, scavenger hunts, exploring, laughing so hard, vulnerability, the desire to grow.
when we walked into the doors of our new home our host revealed to us that its common for the phrase, “retake the high places with praise,” to be said. these high places. the mountains, volcanoes, lush greenery, beautiful and such sweet sweet people, deserve so much honor and to feel like royalty because that is what they are. they are the sons and daughters of the one true king, and to be loved as such is such a precious gift that i can’t wait to partake in.
these nine months are not about me. they are not about what i will do for these people. they are not about what my capabilities are. because if thats what the case was, man oh man, would these people not be served at all, at least not in the way they deserved.
these nine months are about jesus. the one savior, messiah, light, prince of peace. these nine months are about reminding these people and this place that there is still growth and restoration to be done. they are about creating dreams and partnering with the father to do it. to remind people of the power they have access to through the gospel, the good good news, and the even better father.
i just ask that you join with me in praying these things over this place of honor and beauty, especially as all of the teams on my squad start ministry this week, that god would just speak so much truth into our lives so we can go and be such willing and obedient vessels. that whatever he is already doing in guatemala, just continues to spur so much growth, so much life, so much restoration, and so much freedom.
i still can’t believe i am here, that the creator of the universe continues to place me in such perfect moments that only he could have designed and painted for me. i wrote in my journal on my first night in guatemala.
“new is not always bad. new is growth and excitement. its new ways in which he reveals himself to me. its new places to see sunsets and sunrises and the beauty of his creation. its new ways to step into the woman he has called me to be.”
so heres to newness and change and so much goodness in this season. because theres so much growth to be had.
signing off for now,
