I spent two and a half days at training camp in Atlanta, Georgia before arriving to Ometepe, Nicaragua. At training camp we dug deep and prepared our hearts for the “why” behind missions.

This is the view I was welcomed to on our plane ride on Monday afternoon.
After two bus rides and a ferry ride, my team and I made it to our destination – Cicrin. Cicrin is an orphanage that doubles as a school for the amazing people here. So far, our ministry has involved completely renovating the school, helping clean up around Cicrin and my personal favorite, helping prepare our food with Marina, Marta and the other kitchen hosts.

My teammates and I get to live here for 3 more weeks. How lucky am I?

Meet the team – my family for the next three months.
My heart is molding in ways I couldn’t imagine here in Ometepe. Spreading seeds, loving Jesus, sharing community, laughing a lot, and loving hard are just some of the things I get to experience everyday.
Cicrin, you have my heart.
