WOW is the best word to describe this week. I feel so blessed to be working with the light bearers of Jeffrey’s Bay and Port Elizabeth. My team and I spent the week in Port Elizabeth at Father’s House, a non-denominational church full of trendy/edgy Jesus lovers. The Father’s House staff has coffee running through their veins and joy in their spirit. Spending time there has been a breath of fresh air.

This former mattress-production warehouse has been turned into a home for so many. I was fortunate enough to spend my week behind the scenes for one of the church’s biggest events of the year – Worthy Conference. Worthy is a women’s conference that brings thousands of women to fellowship with other strong Christian role models. I decorated, I painted, I danced, and I belly laughed until I cried.

Sometimes I’m guilty of criticizing women in our generation… just as many women are. This week(end) has changed my perspective and renewed my idea of sisters-in-Christ. Ironically enough, I saw an article this weekend emphasizing the importance of picking a seat at the right table – a table of women who cheer for you, empower you and root you on as you pursue Christ. I’m confident I have chosen a seat at the right table with my team of lady-racers. I’ve chosen a seat where “confidence is served like cake, laughter is a side dish and conversations that raise the bar are the main course.” Women serve such an important role in the Kingdom and I’m honored to be a part of such a forthcoming mission.

The connections I’ve made here won’t soon fade. PE has made a lasting impact on my life – the staff, volunteers, interns and children alike. I am THANKFUL, y’all.

Zimi is as creative as they come!

Children’s Conference was loads of fun. These kiddos were a joy!

The interns at Father’s House were the best!

Sammi, in the middle, was the decorative mastermind behind Worthy Conference.

Much love,

Carley
