I cannot believe it’s December, but because it is, I’m sure you can imagine how regularly I listen to Christmas music. (Every day until Dec. 25, of course!) I hope the same goes for you. My absolute favorite Christmas album is Kenny and Dolly: Once Upon a Christmas. I don’t know what it is about Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, but they put me in the Christmas spirit every dang time.

The first song on this album is, “I believe in Santa Claus.” Anybody familiar with it?! When you stop simply humming along to this song and really listen to the words, there is SO much truth.

Here are a few of my favorite lines:

  • I believe there’s always hope when all seems lost.

  • “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

  • I believe when someone hurts us we should forgive and forget.

  • Forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13

  • I believe love should prevail at any cost.

  • Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

  • I believe in lookin’ at our troubles as another stepping stone.

  • We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. Romans 5: 3-4

Here’s my favorite line in this song and I’ll leave you with it:

  • I believe I should do all that I can to be a better piece in the puzzle of God’s plan.

By participating in the World Race, I truly feel that I am becoming the piece of the puzzle God intended me to be. I never really thought of life as a puzzle until Dolly told me so. But, something is perpetually transforming me into a perfect, Christ-like piece that will help complete the eternal puzzle of God’s plan.

I pray that you find where you belong in the puzzle, because you are a special piece in His plan, too.

I believe in Jesus, I believe in Santa Claus and I believe in YOU.

Much love,

Carley
