I recently received a letter in the mail from my prayer partner that had a quote attached. This quote is now taped to the back cover of my bible and reads “God does not call the qualified, he qualifies the called.” MAN. That hit me.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked
“What are your plans after graduation?” … and the flood of responses I receive varies when I tell people THE WORLD RACE!
“What’s the World Race?”
“Oh, I know someone who did that!”
“What about getting a job?”
“How do your parents feel?”
“I’ve heard that place is scary…”
“$$$ ???”
I don’t know all the answers. I don’t think I ever will. But I do know God is calling me out among the waters and I’ve decided to throw on my floaties and take a swim across the great big pond.
Adventures in Missions originated in 1989. Since then, the organization has provided opportunities for more than 110,000 people to participate in mission trips all over the globe. I will be launching with several “Squad” members in August of 2019. My “team” will be smaller and we will have a team leader traveling with us at all times. We will travel to ELEVEN countries in ELEVEN months. In June, I will head to the Adventures in Missions headquarters in Gainesville, Georgia for a 10-day training camp. More details to come!

As you may know, my faith is strong but my time has been limited. Having been raised on a farm and in the livestock industry, my obligations have been many and free time is nearly unheard of. After graduation, I am taking this opportunity before I begin my “big kid job” and start “adulting,” as some would say. I am totally AMPED for this opportunity to travel, immerse myself in different cultures, spread the word of God and evolve in my spirituality. Through the World Race, I am truly following my calling and fulfilling the deep longing I have to make a difference.
I want SO MUCH for you, reading this, to join me on this journey! I will upkeep this blog weekly throughout the race and I want you all to play a part in my mission. Your prayer, your support, and your generous donations will allow me (and many others) to spread the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth. How cool!!
