Hey everyone, I am so happy you found your way back to my blog for the World Race! I am very excited to tell you that I am 48 days away from going to training camp in Georgia and then from there leaving for Africa! I could not be more excited for you all to go along with me and read about all my journeys, I also can’t wait for you to meet my teammates! They are some of the nicest people I have ever met and I can’t wait to be in Africa with them. They are each so encouraging and just wonderful people! So onto the topic for today’s blog… Serving for Jesus! I have been praying for the Lord to lead me to a topic to share with you and this was laid on my heart tonight.
Serving for Jesus does not just mean going out of the country to serve people in need. You can serve the Lord in your own community. Not everyone can go out of state or out of the country but I am sure everyone knows someone they can support that is. I am sure everyone also knows a organization in their community that is in need of things whether it is time, effort, food, or money. In Matthew 25: 41-45 it says “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’
Being the hands and feet of Jesus can be tough sometimes. It can be discouraging, stressful, and rough but when you come to the realization that the Lord is going to provide it gets easier. God is a good Papa and I know that I can trust in him for everything. I can talk to him about anything, the answers, funds, provisions, or anything else I need and he will provide. It might not come right away but I know that it will come when I need it.
Prayer is such a powerful thing and I am so blessed to have so many people young and old praying for me. I know that the Lord hears each and every prayer and that he will answer them in his time. One thing that reminds me of prayer every time I hear it is the verse in James 4:8 “draw near to God and he will draw near to you…”. God wants us to talk to him about things because he loves hearing from us.
I am getting closer and closer to my goal each day. I need to be 75% funded by December 21st. If God has laid it on your heart to help me get to Africa you can hit the donate button above. I also have paypal and venmo if that works better for you! “give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38 ESV
