As I reflect on my twenties, it was the biggest season of maturing in my faith. While I followed the flow of the world like graduating from college, buying a car, and climbing the corporate ladder, I also began to realize that my worth is far greater than that typical checklist custom within our culture. I discovered what it meant to truly live for, and live out, your faith. I found a community that believed the same things I did and encouraged me in that. Regardless if I wasn’t quite on the right path during my walk, they didn’t judge or condemn me because Jesus doesn’t judge or condemn us. I learned that I didn’t have to have it all together to be accepted by God or the church community and that we’ll never be perfect because the only person who was is Jesus and He frees us from that bondage.
During my twenties I also grew to develop a passion for international travel. Later I learned how to combine that for the Kingdom and not just my own personal pursuits. As I turn 30, I’m grateful to have a firmer foundation in my faith and to truly live out my identity in Christ with confidence. This next decade is dedicated to God and growing even deeper in relationship with Him. Jesus was 30 when he began his ministry and I’m so fortunate for His example and to follow in His footsteps. There will be so many more memories to create with Him and I can’t wait. Not going to lie, it was a challenge to knowingly surrender celebrating my 30th birthday with my twin sister Megan this year but I’m so incredibly grateful for her support along with my loving parents, family, and friends. Although I miss everyone dearly, this year has enabled more growth than I can imagine and I will never take that for granted.
One last birthday wish to share with you all is to be fully funded. If 60 people donate $30.00 in honor of my new age, the work that He started will be finished. Instead of celebrating over dinner or drinks this year, please consider contributing toward a greater cause that truly impacts the world. Thank You & God Bless!
