sad story: I just wrote this entire blog and then accidentally deleted all of it…so…love that for me! well on that note…ROUND 2!!!!

Welcome welcome welcome to my very first blog ever! I am super excited to be sharing this journey with y’all!

As a senior in high school, I am constantly getting questions about my future. “What do you plan to do with the rest of your life? Do you know what college you want to go to? What is the next step?” Responding to these questions have been stressful seeing as how I struggle on what cereal to choose for breakfast before I walk out the door. Up until a couple months ago, I thought my future was set for me. Graduate high school, stay home for two years and go to a community college, then transfer to a four year university to further my education. I thought this was the path for me, but I wanted something more. I heard of the World Race about a year ago through social media and although it seemed really great, I never imagined myself to be the one living out of a backpack for 9 months in foreign countries. Over the past few weeks I have realized I was not put on this earth to further my education at a university. I was put here, as were all Christians, to share the good news of Jesus Christ. That said, I have committed to join the World Race Gap Year!!

So what is this World Race Gap Year you ask????? It is a 9 month missions trip to 3 different continents where I’ll get the chance to be amongst like-minded individuals and share the love of the Father! I will be on route 4, meaning I will live in Cambodia, Swaziland, and Costa Rica for roughly three months each. Ahhhhh!! My excitement is through the roof! I am overwhelmed with so many emotions: appreciation, happiness, love, joyfulness, and so many others I can’t even put into words. In just less than a year I’ll be saying sayonara to my friends, and family to live out of a backpack for 9 months around the world! Yes, I’m going to miss them and my sweet pups. I’ll miss getting a head start to college and all the football games. I’ll even miss my favorite mexican joint where the waiter knows my whole order by heart. But it’ll all be here when I get back. I hope the love of God spreads like wild fire everywhere we go!

THANK YOU for taking your time to read this! I know there are a million other things you could be reading or watching so I truly appreciate your time!! Prayers/letters/encouragement/hugs/donations are all welcome! Have a WONDERFUL day<3

Much Love,

Brittney
