today felt like such a girls day! one of my teammates hallie and i had the privilege of getting to meet this 18 year old girl named pretty! pretty decided to stay home from school today because she didn’t feel good but I honestly think it was God’s plan all along! pretty lives in a local squatter camp with her really big family! we got to meet a lot of them today and spend the entire afternoon with them! pretty was spending her off day from school washing her laundry so when we got to her house we asked if we good help her! at first she was kind of hesitant but she came around to it! us three instantly clicked once we started! we laughed, told stories, sang Rihana, learned dances, talked about our hobbies and all sorts of stuff! once we were done washing we started to ask her if she went to church around her and she said no but she’d like to. then she asked us if we worshipped our ancestors because here the people believe that their ancestors protect them and they always worship them. so we got to speak life into her about truth and what the Bible says because she worships her ancestors. we got to help explain to her that worshipping ancestors is not good and that’s not what Gods plan is. we got to explain to her that Jesus came down to earth and suffered on the cross and died for our sins but he rose again that we may be with him in Heaven. she was so excited and wanted to be free from her sin so I got to pray over her to welcome God into her heart and to wash away all her sins! It was such a sweet moment that hopefully she will remember forever that the two Americans who washed her clothes also led her to wash her sins away. It was really great to be able to see a change in someone’s heart so fast!! Please continue to pray for Pretty! Hopefully we get to follow up with her these next few weeks to see if she’s going to church and still on this path!!

thanks for reading my blog!!
