Hello, friends!

It has been a while since my last blog update, so here’s a summary of the last few weeks!

Cambodia. What a month! Here’s some highlights!

-For the first time, our whole team was together (my teammate Layne came back from the States)

-Along with being treasurer, I am now the team leader for Team BiP

-We taught English classes & read lots stories

-Our team built relationships with a teachers

-I climbed Santuk mountain….all 809 steps of it

Aside from the points listed above, my absolute favorite part of the month was at the top of Santuk Mountain. After our hike up, our friend “J” shared with us her story and things she has been going through. Carley, Averie, and I then asked her if she had ever heard of Jesus. She says, “I’ve heard HIs name, but I know nothing about Him. You read the Bible, right? Can you tell me the whole story of Jesus, front the start to the end?” WOW. Yes, we’ve shared the Gospel all over Southern Africa, but most everyone we came in contact with there knew the Gospel. But to be in Cambodia, meeting someone who has never heard what Jesus has done for her, I was wrecked. Carley, Averie, and I told her everything we know to be true about our Father. We shared from Creation to Heaven, and everything in between, obviously highlighting Jesus’ death on the cross for us and how much He loves us and her! She was moved by everything we told her and she said we would look into getting a Bible and try to learn more about Jesus.

It was such an honor to show her the Truth and a good reminder to us for why we do what we do.

Then my team went to Awakening and Debrief for 1 week. It was an awesome time hanging out with our squad plus Gap Z (another squad in Cambodia). It was a time fo refreshing and refocusing. It was also sad for Team BiP because one of our teammates, Nicole, went home for medical reasons, so be praying for her health and that she gets better 🙂

My team then arrived in Laos on Tuesday, the 4th. This month, we are doing something called “ATL”, aka, Ask the Lord. Basically what it means, is we have no ministry host in country and our only rule is to stay in budget. ATL months are basically learning to live your life “on mission”. To be aware of what God wants to do during the day. So it usually begins with lots of prayers with your team, then you go wherever in the country the Lord leads, and you seek out people/opportunities you feel Him drawing you to each day.

So for us, we are currently in Don Det, Laos. It’s a river town on an one of the 4,000 islands in southern Laos. We will be in this area for at least a week. During our last few days, as we have been settling in, we have already built a few relationships with locals and tourists. We have already found some super cool opportunities for the next week, such as helping our friend, “A”, a local, in her restaurant, and teaching English at a school at the end of the island.

One BIG prayer request is to pray for us to have open opportunities to share the Gospel. Laos is a CLOSED country, so it is illegal to speak about Jesus or tell others about Him. So pray for safety as well!

I’m so expectant for this month and cannot wait to see all of the open doors the Father will give us this month to share His love with others.

Much love,

AC
