or ”How are you from Cambodia?” (pronounced “socks-a-bye”)
Hello, all!
Team BiP finished up our ministry in Da Nang, Vietnam last week! It was a great few weeks there serving the people. Like I said in my last blog, we helped with English clubs, had Christmas parties (that allowed us to talk about Jesus), participated and sang in a Christmas show hosted by the Vietnamese church, made lots of friends, helped clean a cafe, and so many other things. We definitely loved our time there!
After leaving Da Nang, our squad met up in Ho Chi Minh for a few days of debrief and said goodbye to our wonderful alumni squad leaders that have been with us for 5 months! (S/O to Rob, Amy, & Cortnie, y’all rock!) They also helped our new “raised-up SQLs” which are 4 people from my squad that will now lead us for the remainder of the Race. (S/O to Hannah, Ben, Daniel, & Ann Marie, y’all also rock!) After debrief, we left for Cambodia!
Team BiP arrived to our ministry site in Cambodia early in the morning Saturday! We are staying in a centrally locates small city. We will be working with a preschool called Good Seed International School. I will be in the toddler class to read stories & play with them every day! (If you know me at all, you know that I am ECSTATIC! Give me all the little kiddos!) Then, in the afternoons, I will teach an ESL (English as a Second Language) class! I’m excited to start teaching tomorrow and get a routine started here in Cambodia.
We absolutely LOVE our host so far. He has been very welcoming and we all feel at home here.
We attended our first church service here this morning. Although none of it was translated to English, the Holy Spirit was definitely present. After church, they even fed us snacks!
So far, I love this place and the Cambodian people. I can’t wait to see what the Lord does here!
Much love,
AC 🙂
