Hello, friends!
First, I want to say THANK YOU for taking the time to visit my blog and please forgive me the lack of writing skills that I possess, haha. I am so excited that you are choosing to follow my journey on this thing called the World Race!
First, I would like to tell you a little about me! My name is Autum and I am 22 years old. I graduated from nursing school in May (*cue the praise break*) and I have recently began my nursing career. To say I love being a nurse is definitely an understatement! I also volunteer as a youth leader at my church.
Growing up as a church kid, I knew that the Lord had a special calling on my life. It wasn’t until my early teen years, however, that I felt the call to missions. I remember being so captivated when I would hear of missonary testmonies, and my heart longed to serve “the least of these” in any way possible. It wasn’t until early 2015, that I was given the opportunity to go on my first mission trip to Germany. During that trip, I was able to minister to refugees and connect with local youth groups to teach them. I loved Germany, but I loooovvveeeddd Africa. My second mission trip was mid-2015, to Swaziland and Mozambique. I fell in love with the people, the cultures, and all the kiddos. While in Africa, I visited carepoints, worked on a farm, and helped at a preschool. That trip was a lifechanging for me. I knew that I would come home and never be the same. Things that I was a part of and witnessed have forever marked me and gave me a passion for missions.
So, how did I get to the World Race?
I first heard of the race when I was 15-16 years old and I knew that one day I would go! So, in August 2019, I will launch with a squad that will travel to 11 countries in 11 months. We will travel to South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. I encourage you to subscribed to my blog for updates to follow along with my journey!
