Wow. Less than a month. Less than a month and we leave Texas and head to Georgia for our two weeks of training at the Adventures in Missions headquarters. We are stoked to meet our team and begin to grow in friendship with the people that will soon become family as we begin this journey together in August.
Really, leaving in June for training camp begins the countdown to leaving Texas. This transition is coming so fast. As of today, we only have 40 actual days left in Texas, in-between travel and time spent at training camp. Then, we officially leave the state and travel to Utah and Washington, each for a visit with family and friends, before we leave for the year. We hope to have time to connect with as many of you as we can and thank you in person, if we haven’t already, for partnering with us in prayer and financially for this year of ministry while we are in town. So, be on the lookout for some kind of invite to a goodbye get together of some kind during the last few weeks of July.
On the horizon, we have two final fundraising events we are stoked about! The Lord really does put the right people around you in seasons. This year here in River Oaks/Ft. Worth, TX has been such a testimony to that. Our crossfit gym will be hosting a fundraising competition for our benefit the weekend after we come back from training camp, June 22nd. We are going to have men’s and women’s RX and scaled divisions, a big raffle, and other awesome pieces in the works. All proceeds will go towards helping us reach our final fundraising goal! So rad. We love our people at Crossfit Panther City-West 7th!
In addition, the weekend after the competition we are planning to have a big garage sale, possibly in our church’s lot, selling all of our belongings, minus a few things we are going to store. The vast majority will be sold and we are beginning the process of narrowing down and sorting through sentimental and personal items we will store for now. This process is very surreal, but also makes the finality of going all the more tangible.
We are also selling these awesome “Let Hope Rise” t-shirts still! $25 for adult and $20 for kids sizes! We would love to get you one! We are making black, rust/orange, grey, and olive green. Let us know! We can ship or hand deliver when we are in town in July.
This week, we also did a trial packing of our bags and that was humbling. We are definitely going to be narrowing down on a few things to lighten up. Fitting your whole life into less than 90L of bag space is quite the process. Honestly, we will be praying into each item and asking the Lord what he wants us to bring. We want to be simple, only bring what we need. Leaving behind things that might hinder us from remaining present or things that might distract us. He knows and will meet all our needs.
As of this week, we are so thankful to report that we are 75% funded! We have less than $10,000 left to raise between now and November! Wow. We are so grateful to all of our donors and those of you who continue to support us monthly. We are looking forward to seeing the Lord continue to close the gap and provide for this last 25%! We have enough to launch with our team officially, which is amazing! Thank you for being a part of this. For saying yes to being a sender and partnering with us. We are so humbled by this process and the prospect of bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to ears and hearts that have never heard or experienced the joy and freedom we have found in Him.
