What is Training Camp?
Training Camp is an intense 10-day experience where you and your teammates meet in Georgia to connect deeply with the Lord and each other. Through teaching, prayer, scenarios, and relationship building, you will step out of fear and shame and into intimacy with the Father. You’ll also receive training on how to partner with God to establish His Kingdom on Earth.
It’s designed to be challenging because we want to prepare you for the road ahead. We will put you in scenarios sure to stretch you, refine you, and bring you closer to Christ.
You’ll end camp exhausted and smelly, but you’ll also leave with a newfound intimacy and confidence in the Lord. He will change your life at Training Camp — and it’s just the beginning of the work He’ll do over the coming year.
The Fitness Requirement
The World Race is just as much a physically challenging journey as it is spiritually challenging. To best set you up for success, we have added a physical fitness component to Training Camp.
Every participant will be required to hike 2.2 miles with their pack in 38 minutes.
*Every Expedition participant will be required to hike 3.3 miles with their pack in 50 minutes.
Don’t freak out; you won’t be hiking Mt. Everest. But do be aware that Georgia does have some beautiful rolling hills that you will experience first-hand.
Okay, now that we’ve told you that, how does this make you feel?
If you feel worried, think about adding some training into your daily schedule to make sure that you’re adequately prepared when you come to camp to complete this hike.
By completing this challenge at Training Camp, you will know you are prepared to face the physical rigors of life on the Race. If you are unable to complete the hike, you may be asked to defer to a later route until you are physically fit enough to participate.
If you are physically unable to complete the hike due to a new injury or other physical limitation, please notify your Admissions Advisor as soon as possible.
