IT IS HERE. Training camp that is!!! I can’t believe that it has already been 8 months since I made the decision to take a leap of faith and leave the country for 11 months. Looking back at how far we’ve come AMAZES me. If it weren’t for the love and support I continue to receive I probably would have backed out due to fear. I am so thankful for everyone who has lifted me up in prayer, guided me toward the Lord, and donated to this opportunity I have. I have heard over and over that I am lucky that I am able to leave my responsibilities and do this and they are right. Over the last 8 months I have became more and more thankful for where God has me. When I feel overwhelmed at the amount I have to raise, which is a whopping $19,200, I see God show up in the smallest ways. It is an absolutely incredible journey I am on. With all that being said…..
I AM 1 DAY AWAY FROM TRAINING CAMP. I can’t believe how fast it got here. I have watched about 20 videos on the training camp experience. From what I have seen it appears to be amazing, exhausting, refreshing, glorious, and it definitely teaches you how to survive on the World Race. I am excited to spend the next 11 days sleeping in my tent and being away from my phone. I am looking forward to disconnecting and seeing what God wants to tell me over these 11 days. We also get to meet the rest of our squad, WHICH I AM PUMPED FOR. These will be the people that I go with on the Race. I have seen the weather forecast for the week….. and it says thunderstorms….. so be praying!!! As far as prepared comes, my parents made sure I was very prepared for the outdoors…. thank goodness because I had no clue when it came to it. My 65L pack is packed and ready to leave sweet home Alabama. Did I mention my pack is bigger than me?? (Or at least feels like it) We will see how hiking in it goes!! Again… feel free to pray!!
I am still fundraising and know GOD WILL PROVIDE! He is FAITHFUL and oh so wonderful.
Be on the lookout for a Post Training camp blog in 11 days!
See ya soon, Alabama!!
