My time in Cambodia has come to an end. This past month has flown by so quickly that I feel like I just got here. Cambodia is full of amazing things but there are so many great things to come!

While I’m sad to leave, there are a few things that I can say goodbye to:

  1. Waking up with a questionable film on my face.
  2. Having to give myself a pep talk just to take a shower over a squatter potty.
  3. Being attacked by bugs that have legs larger than my fingers
  4. Sweating ALL THE TIME!! (Waking up, playing with the kids, sitting down and of course trying to sleep sweating)
  5. Being able to wipe off my dirt tan at the end of the day.
  6. Convincing myself that my clothes are clean.
  7. Debating if the meat I’m eating is chicken, dog, or pork.
  8. Listening to the war between lizards and mice in my ceiling every night and the “occasional” spider.
  9. Waking up to the loud sound of a skateboard slamming on the ground at 6 am.
  10. Playing the game “what’s running down my neck: bug or sweat?”

While I’m excited to leave those things behind, there are many things of this beautiful place that I will miss.

  1. Getting giant hugs from the kids every evening after prayers.
  2. Our amazing ministry host, Vandy, and his family.
  3. Teaching English to all of the kids .
  4. Biking to the store to get amazing “green drink” from the store owner.
  5. Worshiping with the kids every weekend.
  6. Working with the kids on learning their bible verse for the week.
  7. Waking up to our translator, Courtney, playing one of his original songs.
  8. Whacking out fire to fuel my inner pyro.
  9. Eating amazing home cooked food for every meal.
  10. Realizing that it’s sweat and not a giant bug running down my neck.
