1. I should have brought a clothesline.

  2. I should have packed more medicine.

  3. When you’re sick, you really really miss your mom.

  4. I only sleep when I’m sick.  I’m better now!

  5. Parramos has a shop that sells the BEST pizza I’ve ever had.

  6. I should have brought a sewing kit.

  7. Geese make for a great alarm system.  They put geese in cages at the entrance to homes, and they honk whenever someone comes.  Turkeys as well.

  8. You ever seen a goose fight a turkey?  I have, it’s pretty interesting. They have turf wars.  They’re like mob bosses.

  9. You can get a baby chicken for 10 quetzales.  That’s a little over a dollar, and they’re so freaking cute!  As soon as I get back in the states, I’m holding all the animals.

  10. God’s healing power is real, and I see it everyday.  See Hannah Sullivan’s blog for more info, but she’s healed from her gluten and dairy allergies!  I’ve seen God’s healing before, but never on a daily basis like I am now.

  11. Grill your PB&Js.  Like a grilled cheese, except PB&J.  It will change your life. I almost cried it was so delicious.

  12.   Do NOT say ‘Hola’ to a man in Guatemala, if you’re a girl.  It’s taken as flirtatious. Say ‘Buenos Dias’ or ‘Buenas Tardez’, and it won’t be mistaken.

  13. Catcalls happen often, ranging from car honks, whistles, and ‘Hello beautiful’.  We usually ignore them. My personal favorite was ‘Hello my princess!’ Which was quickly shut down by Connor’s reply.  That made my day, and I busted up laughing.

  14. The Taco Bell in Antigua is the only place I’ve found that sells Mountain Dew.  It also has WiFi, I’ll be there often.

  15. The altitude where we are at is a little over 5,000 feet.  I’m only out of breath here because of the altitude, not because I’m out of shape.
