Something that I have been seeing a lot in my friends stories on Instagram is a girl named Hollyn singing No Bondage by Jubilee Worship at Transformation church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I listened to it and it is beautiful. As I started to listen to the song it made me think to myself. Hollyn is using her ability to sing, her beautiful voice for the Kingdom of God. She hasn’t recorded Christian music, but she had the opportunity to sing at this church, bringing God glory.

How many of us are not using the gifts and talents God has given us to enhance His kingdom?

He has given us free will and it’s our choice whether we use our gifts for destruction or to bring God’s name glory!

From the beginning of college till now I have prayed the same prayer. “God, give me opportunities to use my gift of art to bring glory to your name. There’s no coincidence I’ve had this gift since I was little. Instill visions that I can paint, prophetic words I can give to a friend through art.” I’ve said it before and I’ll never stop saying that God is faithful to deliver. This year especially I have had multiple opportunities to honor God through art.

Here’s some of them:

I just wanted to encourage whoever’s reading this to ask the Father what it would look like to use your talents for His Kingdom. And if you think that you don’t have any, ask someone who’s close to you and whom you trust. Sometimes we’re blind to see the good in ourselves and that’s why God wants us in constant fellowship and community with people who will build us up in our faith, encourage us and ultimately help us become who God wants us to be. That being said, you might have to re-evaluate who you’re surrounding yourself with. After high school I finally obeyed what God was telling me to do and I stopped contact with the group of people I was hanging out with. They were not a good crowd. I thought I wouldn’t be able to get better friends. I quite enjoy it when God proves me wrong! He gave me the best of friends in college who I know will be in my life forever. Just cause something is hard doesn’t mean that’s the end. It just leaves the door open now for something else to come through.
