Romans 12:15,
“Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.”
God did something so amazing in me yesterday, and the people around me. These past two years of being in Bible college in Oklahoma, I have learned to rejoice when others get something they want, and to weep when those around me are sad. When we become jealous of victories happening around us, and asking God: “Where’s my blessing?” It is insulting God and telling him that you want their story. God has a different story for you then he has for little Tim. I was finally in a place where comparison was gone, because I know where God is taking me, I know my identity, and I love those around me the way God loves them.
My roommate had huge news for a few of us, and it’s exactly what she’s been praying for, it’s exactly what she wants! And it’s okay to say, “I’m getting everything I want!” My roommate was faithful in this past season. She said YES to doing internship when she wanted to say NO! Submission is something we don’t want to do, but know that the outcome of doing it will produce fruit. When God opens a door he has the intentions of closing them as well. This season of our lives is coming to a close, as God is opening up new doors. She is getting to do what she loves to do. She is doing something she used to do, but for God now.
You may think that God is taking away your passions in this current season, but that doesn’t mean he won’t bring them back in the future. He will pull what we learned in the past, out in the future to glorify is Kingdom now!
I challenge you today to evaluate whether you’re rejoicing with those around you, or questioning “why not me?” IT’S TIME TO HAVE A PRAISE PARTY!
