A: I would say being away from my family for so long and not being home for Christmas. It’s hard not being with them.
8.
Q: My students are currently studying Asia, so I’m sharing your answer with them! What would you say you have learned about the cultures you have experienced!
A: I would say that every culture is diffrent. Culture in Africa is obviously diffrent than the culture in India or Nepal. But even in the same country it is very diffrent. One Town could be Buddhist, while the town next door is Hindu. Or one town celebrates one holiday, while another town doesn’t. One town could be made up of one tribe, while another town is a diffrent tribe of people. Honestly, cultures where ever you go are similar in some ways yet diffrent in many other ways. There is no one specific culture for a country, city, or even town.
9.
Q: Are you “interested” in any of the girls on your squad? 😉
A: lol. No. I know that the woman that I am meant to marry isn’t on the race.
10.
Q: What are the people in India like?
A: They are very friendly and they always want to talk with you.
11.
Q: Have you ever felt unsafe on the race?
A: No. God is always watching over me and I know that I can handle myself in any situation and I am not afraid of anything.
12.
Q: Can you tell a story about one of the people you’ve been ministering to coming to Christ?
A: We were trekking in the Himalayas and we would stay at someone’s house or in a hostel for a night. One day we had the chance to minister to people in a small remote mountain village. A woman wanted to hear about God and Jesus and she wanted to hear a testimony. I had the privilege to share a testimony of God’s love in my life with her. I told her about how my Grandpa took a father role for me because I didn’t have one. I told about how my Grandpa has loved me for the past 20 years. I also told her about what God’s love is like and how he loved us so much, that he sent his only son to die for us. She ended up accepting Christ into her life. It was a humbling experience. I didn’t have a bible to give her, but we made sure that she got one.
13.
Q: What is the first thing that you are going to do when you get home?
A: I’m going to say hi to my family, pet my dogs and cats (especially my brothers cat Taco) and sleep in my own bed with my memory foam pillow and favorite Young Life blanket. Lol
