Good nilly! It has been a crazy couple of weeks. I want to start off by apologizing for extreme lack of blogs. Swaziland has little to no internet. If we do get internet, it is generally really bad. But luckily, there is some decent internet.
Travelling to Swaziland was really hard for me. We pulled an all nighter the night before leaving because we would have gotten maybe 2 or 3 hours of sleep. We flew from Georgia to Boston really early in the morning. Luckily we had a long layover, so I slept a good part of the day. We went out into the city and did a lot of exploring. One of the girls that was on my team (Jordan) pretty much lives right outside of boston. She showed us a bunch of really cool places and we ate a ton of good food. We then had a super long flight to Qatar in the middle east. We got to hang out a lot and we got to eat some good food. We then flew to Johannesburg in South Africa, then took a bus too our base in swaziland.
We arrived in the middle of the night and went straight to bed. The next morning, I walked out side and was amazed at what the country looks like. It is flat and literally every tree and bush have thorns on them. Swaziland is also surrounded by mountain ranges.
We are eating fairly good food. We eat oatmeal, hard boiled eggs and oranges every morning. We also eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for every lunch. But, dinner is always different and is always good. It ranges from stir fry, bbq chicken, rice, Swaziland meals and some American meals. We also go to this place called Nisela and get lunch on Saturdays and Mondays.
We all do a lot of children’s ministry through out the week. My team and I walk 15 minutes down the road to get to the place that we do ministr. The kids love to play games with us and they love to touch my beard. Even though life is very hard for these kids, they are so filled with joy. It encourages me to see them like that and i t pushed me in my faith.
I am afraid that this is all that I can write for now. I hope to post many more blogs soon and get more in depth. Please keep me in your prayers.
