As my time in Indonesia comes to a close I have been thinking about things I have learned or what the Lord is showing me right now.
I have realized that I trust God in the big things but it’s really hard to trust God in the small (aka things I can control). The Lord is showing me that I need to trust God in the small things and humble myself in allowing God to work in that way. I feel like I was limiting God in thinking he was only going to do big things. Small things are significant and sometimes more significant than the big things.
On the World Race, we give feedback everyday to our teammates. At the end of each month we do super feedback which is where each person has to give an encouraging and constructive feedback to each person on the team. A constructive feedback I got was to serve people in small ways and not always wait for the big things. To humble myself enough to volunteer to wash the dishes for everyone or help with certain things without being told to do it. They said, “if you start with the small and are good with it then God will give you more and the bigger tasks.” My teammate is right. I do need to start with the small instead of looking for the big because then I miss opportunity where God wants to use me.
Sometimes the small things are where God shows up and uses it to bring heaven on earth and glory to Himself. God cares about small things just as much as big things.
I have underestimated the small everyday things in life that make life worth living. The things that God has blessed us with. I am starting to appreciate the small things that the Lord gives everyday in a beautiful way I haven’t before.
I am going to challenge myself to think and do the small things everyday. I am going to try to do one small thing that matters every day this month. As well as trust God with the small things in life.
I want to invite you into this challenge with me and see what God does in it.
Fundraising: I only need $4,410 to be fully funded! Praise God! I am so thankful to everyone who has given and are giving monthly. I want to ask you if you would prayerfully consider partnering with me to help me become fully funded! Thank you.
