Hello Family!!
As most of you know, the World Race is quickly coming to an end. With less than 4 weeks left on the field, some sad realities are finally catching up with me and my team.
We all know that life goes on after the Race. Me and my team have started talking about what God’s laying out for us next! It was put on my heart to share with you all what we’re going to be up to when we’re back in the States, so your racer isn’t overwhelmed by the same question over and over and over again!
Before I begin, I just want to speak out some truth and defeat any lies we might be believing.
- This experience has been AMAZING. There hasn’t been anything in my life to compare to life on the field. But, I refuse to believe in the lie that this is as good as it gets. Peaking is for quitters. I fully know that whatever God is calling us to after the race is far greater than anything we’ve experienced before!
- Let’s defeat the lie that me or any of my teammates don’t care what you’ve been doing over the past 9 months. Just calling it out for what it is—a lie. We know full well that the Lord moves in the States, and he does incredible things for all of his children. We want to know how you’ve been and what’s new in your life! Please fill us in when we come home!
- We’re different from how we were before we left. Probably a little socially awkward, hopefully not as high-maintenance as we were before we left! Most parents got a taste of it at PVT, but we’ve picked up different spiritual disciplines, different ways of expressing our faith, and different ways of being in community. Might feel a little weird to see at first, so please freely give grace upon grace!
Woohoo! Now that that’s out of the way, I asked each of my teammates the following: “Now that the race is coming to an end, what’s next?”

Eliza:
“I will hopefully be going to CGA which is a discipleship school run by Adventures in Missions. It lasts from August to December and I’ll be learning how to use the skills I’ve acquired on the Race and use them in real life in America! After that, I’ll go where ever the Lord takes me.”

Josie:
“After the race (19 days after exactly) I’m going to the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. I honestly don’t really know what i’m going to major in as of now but i’m okay with that, I know everything will work out better than okay because the Lord just laughs at me every time I try to make my own plans :)”

Grace:
“I’m team leading next year! That means I’ll be going back on the field leading a team into the first 3 months of their race. After that ends in December the plan is to attend Liberty University in Virginia to study international business and non profits! “

Alyssa:
“What’s next
It’s crazy that the transition home is such a close reality already. Right now I’m not positive what life is going to look like after the race but, I applied to and have an interview in a couple weeks for the Center for Global Action! CGA is a 5 month discipleship school run by Adventures in Missions for world race alumni. I would be living in Gainesville, GA along with everyone else in the program(yay for community)! We get part time jobs and use that as our outreach, transferring everything I have learned from 9 months on the mission field to living a mission centered life back in the states!”

Moriah:
“I currently don’t know exactly what I am doing. The Lord has been speaking leadership over me in this next season, and i have a few options of doing that. I am currently praying over which path i should take!”

As for me:
I’m going back to school to finish up my major! I start summer school two weeks after I come back home. Then I’ll be an RA for a freshmen hall in the Fall and Spring. The Lord’s been speaking the word “application” over this next season. I’m thinking that means taking everything that I’ve learned on the race and applying them to my life outside of the race to solidify them and make them a part of who I am. I’m pretty excited about that.
Hope that covers at least the surface of your questions! I still can’t believe I have to go back to doing life without these crazy, incredible women. Team Kaleo will always have a place in my heart, forever and ever. I’m optimistic that we’ll find creative ways to stay connected and in each others lives! They always have a place to stay in California. Who knows, I may hop on a plane and pop in every now and then to see them.
I can’t wait for God’s big plans to unfold before their eyes. It’s going to be awesome.
Steph
