¡Hola mis amigos, Feliz dia de gracias!
Okay can I just say I love thanksgiving and that in the middle of life every year all of America stops to have a day where we intentionally practice thankfulness! And I would love to petition to make everyday thanksgiving but until then I’ll just tell you about what I’m thankful for today!
Today I’m thankful for the family I’ve found within my team, for the access I have always around me to support my basic needs. I’m thankful for family that supports me from back home and friends who cheer me on and encourage me daily. I’m thankful for the way God has transformed my life. For the gifts and talents he’s given me, and that even when I don’t see them he does. I’m thankful for those who have partnered with me in prayer for this trip. I’m thankful for those who have donated and supported me financially. I’m thankful for all the leadership within our squad, for the sacrifices they make for us and to fallow where God has called them, and like just the way they love us and lead us so well! I’m thankful for hosts who go above and beyond and care for us so well. I’m thankful for yummy food. I’m thankful for laughter. I’m thankful for dancing! And singing even if it sounds awful! I’m thankful for the ocean, and really all of creation that reveals Gods majesty! I’m thankful for everyone who has poured into me and helped shape me into who I am today from youth leaders to family friends teachers and even strangers. I’m thankful for this life I live and everything I’ve been given. Thanks God!
Being away for the holidays I think it could be so easy to mope about missing out, but when I look at all that I have, and when God reminds me that I lack nothing it all makes sense and gratefulness seems to be the only thing left.
You know how it’s a big thing these days “choose joy” well I’m all for that but I’m just saying “choose gratitude ” would also look pretty cool on a mug, or a wall, or as a laptop sticker… just sayin.
So happy thanksgiving and remember choose gratitude!
