We made it to Belize!
So far, I’ve learned that:
- The locals are so friendly.
- The food is bomb.
- Our host mom, Miss Mona, is an absolutely saint and has spoiled us beyond belief.
- The children exude God’s love, affection and desire for relationship.
Meet Leslie…

Without even knowing my name, Leslie came running up to me, arms wide open, with the most beautiful smile and gave me the sweetest hug. Her smile is contagious, her desire to share love is admirable and her silliness brightened my entire day. She quickly became my little shadow and stole my heart from the moment I met her. I asked, “Leslie, do you want to go play with me?” To which she responded, “No.” I couldn’t believe it! All she wanted was to sit next to me.
Isn’t this a lot like our Father?
He calls us with arms wide open and patiently waits for us to fall into His loving arms. He longs to love us and to be loved by us. His greatest desire is to be in relationship with us, to be near us and to just sit next to us.
Meet Leandra…
Leandra was a glimpse of God’s faithfulness and goodness.
As we created this beautiful picture together, I couldn’t help but see God through her eyes. Through Leandra, I was able to take a moment and thank God for all that He has done in my life. Her soft eyes spoke peace and hope. Through her sweet spirit, I was reminded that no matter what our situation looks like, there is always a reason to give thanks to God.
“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus.” -1 Thessalonians 5:18
God, I thank you for:
- Revealing more of your love through the eyes and hearts of Leslie and Leandra.
- Leading me on a journey of experiencing more of who you are and who you’ve called me to be.
- Being surrounded by a community of people who long for more of You.
- Teaching me how to love more, lead more and serve more.

I think it’s safe to say, my face hurts from smiling so much and my heart is overflowing with love for Belize.
