Let’s pretend you’re lost in a giant field of dry and brittle wheat. The sun is blazing over head, you have no sunscreen and you’re on your last drop of water. “Your palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy…”(you know the rest). So there you are, feeling the anxiety build.. lost. What do you do?

I once wrote in a little bio of myself that “I lived for the unplanned journey” and part of that is still very true. Unplanned to me means a new unknown and I find excitement in the newness, whether that be a place, experience, job, etc. So when you’re in a place that feels like a tug-of-war for the “more” within you, but don’t see a one way or the other direction… that’s kind of a hard place to be.

All I could do and all I did was cry out to the Lord. “If God has something else for me, will He take me there. Will you take me there God?????” I wrote that in a journal with 5 question marks… I needed answers. It felt like I was in the giant pasture of super tall itchy dry grass. I was looking all around for a trail. For the path of trampled grass where others have walked and forged the way. Psalm 18:6 “In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.”

He hears. He answers. His timing is not our own though. He gives good gifts and wants us to ask. He wants to know our pleas and requests. He already does, but He loves to hear our voice! “Come to me, all you who labor and I will give you rest.” What rest He gives.

In my distress, He answered, and not only showed me the forged path of trampled grass, but layed down stone after stone for me to walk on. To walk in a direction that I wasn’t quite anticipating, but it never really is, is it?

He answered with the World Race. 11 countries in 11 months. Sharing His love and name to people all over the world. Depending on Him when I am striped from my comforts and routine. Seeking Him, His Word, His name, His purpose, His design, His glory, and His way.

I can’t do this alone, and would deeply love for you to be a part. You can be a part in a few ways: 1. Prayer! 2.
