AHHHH the first big holiday from home!!!!

If you know me, you know that I looooooooooveeeee holidays. I always say that I am going to be that mom that decorates her house from top to bottom for every holiday.

A Kennedy Thanksgiving looks different every year, but you can believe it is always filled with smiles and good food. Thanksgiving is in 2 days and I thought by this point, I would be sad that I am missing out on all the fun back home, but the truth is, I am so so so excited to celebrate it here in good ole Cambodia (sorry mom and dad I still love you).

We got the news earlier today from our ministry host that my team will be decorating for Thanksgiving. OKAY THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!! I almost cried, I am so excited (if you can’t tell, I love to decorate. Hit me up for all your decorating needs).

Here is what Thanskgiving 2018 looked like:

I woke up in the b e s t  m o o d  e v e r! So much to be thankful for today. I went downstairs with the biggest smile on my face. I was immediately met with a ton of “good mornings and happy thanksgivings.”

At 2, it was my teams job to decorate, so me and Victoria got on our bikes and attempted to go buy different things for decorations. Victoria lost her flip flop along the way and we ended up spending around 10 dollars on paper (which is insane in Cambodia) but was it worth it? YES!

We came back with a ton of paper, but wow, there is SO MUCH you can do with paper, I had no idea. My team is so incredibly talented and creative and our decorations turned into more than we all could have ever imagined (Pinterest has nothing on our decorations).

The food was amazing as well. We had some of everything and my plate was on the verge of breaking because I had so much on it. When it was announced that we could get seconds, you best believe that I was the first one up.

After we ate, we all went outside and (tried) to burn off all of the food by dancing and exercising, and it didn’t work, but it was so much fun.

We ended the night with worship and I couldn’t be more thankful for this beautiful, magical day that God gave me.

Thanksgiving 2018, you were so different, but so good.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE BACK HOME!! I hope it is full of nothing but love, joy, and Jesus 🙂
