Google translate:::An app that came in handy when it came to passing Spanish class my sophomore year of college. An app that, on October 21st, broke the language barrier between me and the people of Cambodia.

Sunday evening, my team and I were walking out of a coffee shop and a lady was trying to tell us something (but of course we couldn’t understand because she was speaking in Khmer).
We just assumed that she was begging for money, maybe for food, or maybe just because…we didn’t know.
Me, and my teammates (Gabby and Victoria) tried to figure it out, but lets face it, Khmer is impossible. Victoria eventually went inside and got a worker to translate for us and turns out, the woman wanted money… for food.
Sweet, sweet Victoria went inside to get her food, then we all sat outside at a table and waited.

The woman kept speaking, she even wrote on her hand, and I was going insane in my head.  I so desperately wanted to know what she was saying and what she was writing.

All of a sudden, I found myself handing her my phone for her to speak into Google translate, so we could figure out what she was saying, but scratch that, it didn’t work. So then, I changed it to where she could write on it and handed her my phone again.

BAM, it worked!
She wrote that she had to get back to her daughter.
let me tell you, I was both relieved and mind blown at the fact that it actually worked.
She got her food, we said our goodbyes, and went on our way.

Even though we didn’t get to share Jesus with her, that whole experience taught me something very important.
Jesus can literally show up and show out  a n y w h e r e  and in  a n y w a y. I love the way He does things to bring kingdom. Like, who would’ve thought that google translate would be a way to bring kingdom???
Sometimes, He can make a miracle and break language barriers Himself and sometimes, He chooses to use google translate.

Google translate is a good thing, it can change a life, so for all you people out there who struggle with language barriers… I hope this blog helps 🙂
